Day 1

ARRIVE IN KAHULUI

  • Pick rental car, and head to South Maui.

  • Check in to your lodging.

  • Go for a long sunset walk on the beach.

  • Get an early dinner at a food truck.

Day 2

EXPLORE SOUTH MAUI

  • Walk the boardwalk at Kalama Park.

  • Drive to Wailea-Makena for lunch.

  • Relax at one of the many beaches.

    • Makena State Park

    • Tip: buy basic snorkel equipment to use at any beach you visit.

Day 3

EXPLORE SOUTH MAUI

  • Breakfast at a local coffee shop.

  • Drive south through the lava fields.

  • Hike the Hoapili trail.

  • Get a late lunch and happy hour.

Day 4

CENTRAL MAUI & PAIA

  • Check out of lodging.

  • Drive to the heliport in Kahului.

  • Take a helicopter ride of Molokai and the West Maui mountains.

  • Hike ʻĪao Valley State Monument or visit the Botanical Gardens.

  • Check into lodging in Paia.

  • Watch the sunset at Ho’okipa Beach Park.

Day 5

EXPLORE THE NORTH SHORE

  • Eat at one of the many cafes in Paia.

  • Relax at one of the many beaches.

    • Baldwin Beach, Sprecklesville Beach

  • Dinner at Mama’s Fish House.

Day 6

EXPLORE UPCOUNTRY

  • Check out of lodging.

  • Pick up camping gear in Kahului.

  • Drive through Upcountry.

  • Lunch at Hali’imaile General Store.

  • Set up camp at Hosmer Grove in Haleakalā National Park.

    • Tip: temperature will drop dramatically at sundown.

  • Hike the alien forest.

  • Star gaze at 7000’ elevation.

 

Day 7

ROAD TO HANA

  • Watch the sunrise over Haleakala crater.

  • Drive the Road to Hana.

  • Check in to lodging.

  • Visit the Waiʻanapanapa State Park.

  • Eat at a local food truck.

  • Buy fruit from a local stand.

Day 8

EXPLORE EAST MAUI

  • Drive the road from Hana, headed south.

  • Swim at Wailia Falls.

  • Visit the ʻOheʻo Gulch Park.

    • Pipiwai Trail, Sacred Pools

    • Tip: reuse your 3-day pass from camping at Haleakala National Park.

  • Drive along the south side of Haleakala.

  • Check in at Camp Olowalu.

Day 9

EXPLORE OLOWALU

  • Relax on the beach at the campground.

  • Rent a paddleboard or kayak.

  • Eat at Leoda’s.

  • Visit the Olowalu Cultural Reserve.

 

Day 10

EXPLORE LAHAINA

  • Do the Lahaina Historic Walking Tour.

  • Get lunch at Kimo’s on the water.

  • Check in to lodging in Kaanapali.

  • Get dinner at Star Noodle next to the Old Lahaina Luau (or reserve dinner at the luau itself).

Day 11

EXPLORE WEST MAUI

  • Take a seasonal tour from the Lahaina Wharf.

    • Whale watching, scuba diving, parasailing, snorkeling, sailing, etc.

  • Cliff jump at Black Rock Beach.

  • Walk the Kaanapali board walk.

  • Dinner at Duke’s.

Day 12

EXPLORE WEST MAUI

  • Drive north to the Nakalele Blowhole.

  • Stop at Lipoa Point.

  • Snorkel at Honolua Bay.

  • Visit Honolua Farms Kitchen.

  • Dinner at Mala Tavern.

 

Day 13

HEAD BACK TO KAHULUI

  • Drop off camping gear.

  • Grab lunch from a local restaurant.

    • Tin Roof, My Thai, Acevedo’s

  • Eat on Kanaha Beach.

  • Head to the airport.

Day 14

TRAVEL + RECOVER

  • Depending on where you are traveling back to, you may have to break up legs of your trip home. Plan for some travel and give yourself time to unpack and unwind as you return home.
